As part of Edinburgh's international festival, i was lucky enough to work at its first ever fashion festival, working for the festival was honestly a welcome break from my boring job. The fashion festival itself lasted four days with different catwalk shows every night, talks, exhibitions and fashion films during the day. Having lived in Edinburgh my whole life I felt that the one thing missing from the festival was the fashion side of things and through this four day event I think they brought what the international festival was missing. All through working at the festival I got to go to all exhibitions and catwalk shows, to say i was inspired would be an understatement.
Below are images taken by me from the Pam Hogg exhibition, her runway show was honestly the best i have/may ever see (images will be coming soon). The setting for all the exhibitions were in a place called Summerhall, which is an old vet school and gave the perfect place to display her designs. The haunting backdrop seemed to fit with the raw and animalistic feel to Pam's designs. Not many designers could fill such a space and manage to make the clothes look as though they belong there and were not merely put on display.
