The tile of this post comes from my all time favourite film ‘Almost Famous’ I genuinely think if I hadn’t seen this film I may not have become obsessed with certain bands that I have. This film is the reason I go looking for second hand vinyl to try and create a music library for my life.In John Greens book Looking for Alaska the main character says that she’s collecting books for her ‘Life’s Library’ that’s what I’m trying to achieve but for music. I want to have every song I truly love not just on a computer but a physical copy which I can use and see getting older with me. That’s the one thing I love about vinyl the more you play it the more the creases of how much you love it show, the crackle gets louder at the start of a song, the sleeve gets bent and the colour starts to fade. And this is even more so on second hand vinyl, Knowing that someone has loved the music before me makes me appreciate it more. I feel even though I have never met that person or will ever met them, I have the same feeling they did when I’m listening to the music even though we are decades apart…
This is also what I also love about music in general - it’s timeless. My record player :)
My best friend holding up one of my favourite albums, this is probably one of my favourite photos i have ever taken, her hair just fits perfectly.
